Scania Secures Order For 1,000 Tractors - EGR Technology and Comprehensive Service Decisive
The strong order intake continues into the fourth quarter.
The agreement, Scania's largest ever in the Netherlands, is basedon customer-tailored financing and a repair and maintenance contract.
Most of the trucks, powered by 420 hp engines in Euro 4configuration, will be delivered in 2007.
"Engines that meet the Euro 4 exhaust requirements with EGRtechnology were one of the demands of Vos Logistics. Only twomanufacturers are able to offer this and the customer chose Scaniaahead of MAN," says Anders Grundstromer, Managing Director of ScaniaBenelux.
Vos Logistics is one of Europe's leading transport companies andhas an in-house fleet of about 3,000 vehicles. Most of them coverinternational routes.
"Scania's ability to provide individually tailored servicesolutions throughout Europe was another decisive factor behind ourchoice," says company President Wim Vos.
"The order intake is still very strong. The fourth quarter got offto an even better start than the same period last year, and that'swithout even including this latest contract," says Per-Erik Lindquist,Scania Group Vice President, Franchise and Factory Sales.
