StanCorp Financial Q2 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - StanCorp Financial Group, Inc. (SFG) reported that second-quarter net income increased to $64.3 million or $1.50 per share from $40.8 million or $0.93 per share in the prior-year quarter.

Excluding after-tax net capital losses, net income for the latest quarter was $64.6 million or $1.51 per share.

Total revenues for the quarter dropped to $734.5 million from $707.1 million in the same quarter last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $1.21 per share on revenues of $718.99 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
