Stanley Black & Decker Q4 Profit Climbs; Sees FY16 EPS Below View - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Stanley Black & Decker Inc. (SWK), a provider of power and hand tools, products and services, reported Thursday that its fourth-quarter net profit attributable to shareowners climbed to $265.5 million from last year's $145.8 million. Earnings per share were $1.77, compared to $0.91 last year.
On a continuing operations basis, income was $267.2 million or $1.78 per share, compared to $219.3 million or $1.37 per share a year ago.
On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $1.77 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Net sales for the quarter were $2.85 billion, down 5% from last year's $2.98 billion. A 1% rise in price was more than offset by 6% drop on currency. Organic sales growth was 1%. Analysts expect revenues of $2.94 billion.
Looking ahead, the company expects to deliver approximately 3% organic growth and earnings per share of $6.00 - $6.20, up approximately 3% at the mid-point, in 2016. Analysts expect earnings of $6.41 per share for the full year.
