Svein Jacobsen leaves the board of Nordea as of 31 July 2014

Svein Jacobsen has notified the board of directors that his assignment as board member of Nordea Bank AB (publ) will be discontinued early with effect from 31 July 2014, since he will not be able to comply with the new regulation on maximum number of board assignments that comes into force on 2 August 2014. Following Svein Jacobsen’s resignation, the board will still constitute a quorum. Therefore the board will not convene shareholders to an extraordinary general meeting to appoint a new board member until the end of the next annual general meeting. Svein Jacobsen, who has been a member of Nordea’s board since 2008, says in a comment that he deeply regrets this outcome and that with board memberships as his main occupation it has been a difficult decision taking into account the other board positions currently held by him.
