Swisscom Mobile's Launch of New Entertainment Service Expands NMS Communications and LogicaCMG Ringback Tones Reach

    FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 2005--

Rollout in Switzerland Represents Third Vodafone-related Win for NMS/LCMG Partnership

NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS) and LogicaCMG (LSE: LOG) today announced their third joint ringback commercial launch, as Swisscom Mobile, a Vodafone Partner Company, introduced its customers to ringback tones, the hot new service that lets mobile phone subscribers replace the usual ringback tone with the latest music hits. Swisscom Mobile's ringback tone service is based on MyCaller(TM) (www.nmscommunications.com/MyCaller), the personalized mobile entertainment platform from NMS Communications. LogicaCMG is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the solution.
Traditionally, callers hear the standard "ring, ring" tone until a call is answered, but now, when placing a call to a Swisscom Mobile customer, they're more likely to hear commercial music. What the caller hears depends on the personal ringback profile previously chosen and set by the Swisscom Mobile subscriber. The ringback tones may be set easily via SMS.
Unlike the popular ring tones, which reside in the handset and depend on having models with specific features, the ringback tone service reside on the telecom provider's network. Every mobile customer, regardless of handset, can use the service, and all of their callers, regardless of whether they're calling from a fixed-line or mobile phone, will hear the ringback that the customer has chosen for them to hear.
Heinrich Schneeberger, Project Manager, Swisscom Mobile, said, "The NMS-LogicaCMG team has provided us with a solution that meets our stringent requirements. We demanded an approach based on call processing excellence, which ensures that our ringback tone offering will perform flawlessly in the network, unlike other offerings in the market which have proven disruptive to network performance. We also had a need for multi-language support - French, German and Italian - as that is tremendously important in our market."
The market-proven solution from NMS and LogicaCMG is cost-effective for operators to implement, helps to attract today's youth and teen demographic and retain existing subscribers.
