Sysco Corp. Earnings Rise 13% In Q2

(RTTNews) - Sysco Corp. (SYY) revealed a profit for its second quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $275.37 million, or $0.48 per share. This was higher than $244.62 million, or $0.41 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.41 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 49.6% to $12.15 billion. This was down from $24.09 billion last year.
