Taubman Shopping Centers Launches 'Happy Feet' Snow Globe Holiday Displays With V.I.P.P. (Very Important Penguin Parties)

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Beverly Center will set the stage on Nov. 2 with a V.I.P.P. (Very Important Penguin Party) to debut the new "Happy Feet" multi-sensory holiday snow globe display, which is part of a national launch at 17 Taubman shopping centers.

The V.I.P.P. will introduce the interactive exhibit based on the highly anticipated movie "Happy Feet," from Warner Bros. Pictures. To commemorate the debut, Beverly Center will transform the Grand Court into an Antarctic winter wonderland. Entertainment will include Atlantic recording artist Gia Farrell, who will perform "Hit Me Up," which is featured on the "Happy Feet" soundtrack, along with two other songs from her upcoming debut album. "Happy Feet" director George Miller will also be on hand to celebrate along with E.G. Daily, the voice behind baby Mumble.

Festivities begin at 5:00 pm in the Beverly Center Grand Court on level six. The snow globes will open following a dramatic countdown and a flurry of confetti snow.

The Snow Globes Featuring "Happy Feet" exhibit brings to life key moments from the movie and includes a 20-foot walk-through snow globe, complete with a cold Antarctic blast and 300 pounds of swirling theatrical snow. Within the globe, guests can find life-sized sculptures of characters from the film and enjoy toe-tappin' music from the movie soundtrack.

The exhibit also showcases three-dimensional, penguin-filled "Happy Feet" scenes displayed in three, six-foot snow globes with buttons to launch interactive elements; a walk-through 28-foot holiday tree where visitors can learn about key characters and a "green screen" experience where children can pose for holiday pictures that make them look like they're dancing with Mumble and other characters featured in the film.

Youngsters will also be able to have their pictures taken with Santa for a more traditional holiday photo starting November 24.

The Snow Globes Featuring "Happy Feet" comes to Los Angeles through a new partnership between Bloomfield Hills-based Taubman Centers Inc. , which owns and manages Beverly Center, and Warner Bros. Pictures. It will appear exclusively at 17 Taubman shopping centers nationwide this holiday season.

In theaters November 17, the comedy adventure, "Happy Feet" is set in the great nation of Emperor Penguins. Deep in Antarctica, you're nobody unless you can sing -- which is unfortunate for Mumble (ELIJAH WOOD), who is the worst singer in the world. He is born dancing to his own tune ... tap dancing. Mumble's mom, Norma Jean (NICOLE KIDMAN), thinks this little habit is cute, but his dad, Memphis (HUGH JACKMAN), says "it just ain't penguin." Besides, they both know that, without a Heartsong, Mumble may never find true love. Leaving home, Mumble meets the Adelie Amigos, led by Ramon (ROBIN WILLIAMS). The Adelies invite Mumble to party with them in Adelie Land, where Mumble seeks the counsel of Lovelace the Guru (also voiced by ROBIN WILLIAMS), a crazy-feathered Rockhopper penguin who will answer any of life's questions for the price of a pebble.
