Teck Resources Q2 Profit Slides - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Teck Resources Ltd. (TCK_A.TO, TCK) Thursday said its second-quarter profit attributable to shareholders fell to C$63 million or C$0.11 per share from C$80 million or C$0.14 per share reported a year ago.

Adjusted profit attributable to shareholders was C$79 million or C$0.14 per share, while it totaled C$72 million or C$0.13 per share in 2014.

Revenue declined to C$1.999 billion from C$2.009 billion in the prior year.

Looking ahead, the company said that due to planned temporary shutdowns of coal mining operations in the third quarter, production will be reduced by approximately 1.5 million tonnes to 5.7 million tonnes, a reduction of 22 percent for the quarter, with expected sales to be at least 6 million tonnes.
