The BIM Commission, from the Spanish Ministry of Public Works appoints Mario Ortega from BIMobject® as the Head of Work Subgroup 3.8 "Information Management"

The BIM Commission, established by the Ministry of Public Works of the Spanish Government, appoints Mario Ortega, Managing Director of BIMobject Spain, as the Head of Work Subgroup 3.8 "Information Management".

The BIM Commission has appointed the heads and members of the different subgroups that will help to improve BIM implementation in the building industry in Spain.

The initiative es.BIM, sponsored by the Ministry of Public Works of the Spanish Government, is a group open to all parties involved in the building industry (the Government, engineers, building companies, universities, professionals etc.) where the objective is the implementation of BIM in Spain. 

Mario Ortega, Managing Director of BIMobject Spain, is now the Head of Work Subgroup 3.8 "Information Management".

The objectives of this Work Subgroup 3.8 "Information Management" are:

• To analyse and determine the process for data inclusion of BIM models in the various phases of building lifecycles. 
• To recommend the contents of a minimum quality level required for BIM objects and libraries. 

"The integration of products from building and construction manufacturers is the key. Our goal in this subgroup is for any product information to be supplied by an authorised information source, as well as to make the information useful for the parties involved in any phase of the model lifecycle", says Mario Ortega, Managing Director BIMobject Spain. 

As es.BIM states, BIM methodology is truly a technology wake-up call for the production chain, building management and infrastructures. The most important key factor is that BIM has the power to allow information already included in the model to be converted to file formats that may be used by infrastructure providers, allowing both the operation and facility management to be performed through an efficient method.
