Toyota May US Sales Up 17% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Toyota Motor Corp. (TM) Tuesday reported a 17 percent increase in US May sales to 243,236 units from 207,952 units last year. On a DSR basis, TMS sales were up 12.6 percent from last year.

Toyota division sales in May climbed 12.2 percent year-over-year to 216,315 units and Lexus reported May sales of 26,921 units, a 16.6 percent increase on a DSR and a 21.1 percent increase on a raw-volume basis, both year-over-year.

Toyota division car sales grew 20.6 percent to 128,109 units, on growth at Corolla and Camry brands. Lexus car sales rose 21.8 percent to 15,135 units.

Toyota division truck sales were up 10.9 percent at 88,206 mainly on robust demand for RAV4 brand. Highlander, 4Runner and Sienna also saw growth.

Lexus division truck sales climbed 20.2% to 11,786 units.
