Twitter Allows Direct Messages From Anyone
(RTTNews) - Twitter is expanding its direct messaging feature to enable users to communicate privately with a single person or with a group of people, even if they are not following each other.
Earlier, Twitter allowed private messages to users who had already established a connection or following each other.
The San Francisco based social networking services company said, when a user turns on a setting to receive Direct messages from anyone, a new Direct message button will appear on the profile. Then the user can tap the envelope icon and that will be directed to messages. After creating a message, you can send it by a click, after entering the user names.
Direct messages can be used for group conversations also. A group message can include up to 30 people. Photos also can be shared to one-on-one or to a group. One can receive Direct messages from anyone, by choosing 'Receive Direct Messages' in the Security and Privacy settings.
One can send only 1000 Direct messages in a day. If Direct messages are sent to multiple accounts, it may be flagged as a spam and the sending activity may be restricted for 30 minutes.
Recently, Twitter has changed its home page in U.S. with a new design. Since January, users are allowed to send video messages to groups.
