UIEvolution Powers Toyota Launch of Entune™ Multimedia System
Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) U.S.A., Inc. and UIEvolution today announced a partnership to bring Toyota drivers a new connected application experience in the vehicle.
Entune, Toyota’s in-vehicle multimedia system, is powered by UIEngineTM, part of UIEvolution’s app Experience Management platform. UIEvolution delivers app experiences across smart devices and multiple screens (mobile, TV, auto, tablets and more).
UIE’s technology creates a simplified, connected app experience for Toyota drivers. They can access and manage vehicle information, select third-party apps and their own entertainment directly from the in-dash display screen.
"Advances in mobile devices and faster wireless networks fuel consumer appetites for connected applications. Toyota understands this, and leads the industry with a technology- and consumer-focused vision around Entune™,” said Chris Ruff, President and CEO of UIEvolution, Inc. "Our platform takes a complex technical idea – extending a personal app experience across screens and devices – and turns it into the best in-vehicle user experience. We are proud to make Toyota’s vision of a new, fully connected consumer experience in the car a reality.”
"The UIE platform lets Toyota seamlessly integrate with third-party software and hardware (e.g. Bing, iheartradio, OpenTable, Pandora, Bluetooth), allowing integration between the navigation system and location-based services, and providing dynamic addition and removal of content by both Toyota and users,” said Koji Hosaka, General Manager of UIEJapan.
"Proven performance, quality user experiences and continual application evolution make UIEvolution the right solution for Toyota,” said Jon Bucci, vice president, Advanced Technology Department at Toyota. "With Entune, we are able offer our customers a robust experience that will evolve over time to meet their needs.”
For more than 10 years, UIE has delivered industry-leading mobile and IPTV technologies, powering applications for media companies and service providers. The UIE platform currently delivers compelling user experiences to millions of consumers.
Toyota’s Entune will be available as an option on select models later this year. The featured apps of Toyota Entune include Bing, iheartradio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable and Pandora, as well as location-based services, such as personalized traffic, fuel prices, stocks, weather, and sports.
