UMC Q3 Results Down, Sees Sequentially Lower Wafer Shipments In Q4

(RTTNews) - Taiwanese semiconductor foundry United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC) reported Wednesday that its third-quarter net income attributable to the shareholders of the parent was NT$15.97 billion or $495 million, down 40.8 percent from last year's NT$27 billion.

Earnings per share declined to NT$1.29 from last year's NT$2.19. Earnings per ADS was $0.200.

Operating revenues were NT$57.07 billion or $1.77 billion, 24.3 percent lower than last year's NT$75.39 billion.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the company projects gross profit margin to be in the low-30 percent range, and Wafer Shipments to decline by approximately 5 percent sequentially.
