United Natural Foods Q3 Earnings Retreat 8%

(RTTNews) - United Natural Foods (UNFI) reported earnings for third quarter that lost ground from last year.

The company said its profit came in at $38.27 million, or $0.76 per share. This was lower than $41.75 million, or $0.83 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.66 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.0% to $2.13 billion. This was up from $2.01 billion last year.
