Veidekke ASA: Wins major hospital contract in Stockholm

Veidekke and subsidiary Arcona are to build St Erik's Eye Clinic in Hagastaden in Stockholm for Vitartes. The contract is a collaborative turnkey contract with a combined framework of approx. SEK 1 billion excluding VAT. The first part of the contract starting now is valued at SEK 320 million.

The new 42,000 m² clinic will be certified in accordance with the Sweden Green Building Council's (Miljøbyggnad) Gold Standard. The building will be directly linked to the new Karolinska Hospital, which is an area where a number of other development projects are being carried out. This places great demands on planning and logistics, which will be resolved using Arcona's CSL logistics system with a separate logistics terminal, coordinated deliveries and assisted deliveries.

Stockholm County Council will be the largest tenant in the building with St Erik's Eye Clinic. By gathering and cooperating with other parties in the specialist field, the new clinic and hospital premises will provide a comprehensive service in eye health, better patient management, effective care and high quality research and education.

Planning and design work has already started, and the new building is scheduled for completion at the 2019/2020 turn of the year.
