Vine Not Dead Yet: Twitter Might Sell It Rather Than Close It Down
(RTTNews) - Twitter is reportedly in talks with a number of potential buyers for its short-video sharing app Vine, contrary to earlier reports that Twitter might shut it down.
Few weeks ago, Twitter announced that it was closing down Vine within a few months but keep will still keep the archive of Vines available for users to download and see. However, tech news website TechCrunch reports that Twitter has currently received several bids from companies offering to buy Vine. The social networking giant expects to reach a deal soon.
According to report, Twitter received offers from 10 bidders and has narrowed the pool down to around 5. Japanese messaging and gaming company LINE is also rumored to be among the interested parties.
Twitter had purchased Vine for $30 million in 2012 and launched it shortly after in October that year.
