VISANOW Helps ATMI Manage Green Card Immigration Processing Overflow
Leading immigration solutions provider VISANOW recently helped ATMI
(NASDAQ:ATMI) manage a significantly heightened immigration activity
period when the majority of employment-based visas were removed from a
lengthy backlog. The announcement made by the Department of State (DOS)
impacted the green card applications of several employees at ATMI, a
supplier of specialty materials and high-purity materials handling and
delivery solutions, who could now prepare to file their Form I-485
(Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status)
petitions on July 1, 2007.
Leveraging its technology-based model for delivering legal services,
VISANOW was able to maintain its responsiveness and customer service
levels despite the flood of hundreds of employees from corporations such
as ATMI, who were rushing to prepare and file their Form I-485s on July
1.
For Glenda Edwards, talent acquisition manager at ATMI, the time between
June 13 – when the DOS announced the priority
date movement – and July 1, when the DOS would
initially accept applications – was one of the
most stressful periods her department has ever experienced. Says
Edwards, "Throughout this emotional time for
our affected employees, VISANOW was always available through its Q&A
site. They helped us interpret the DOS announcements and address our
employees’ questions and concerns. VISANOW did
a great job staying very professional, but their empathy for our
employees was clear.” "VISANOW’s process
is built on patented technology that provides companies such as ATMI and
their applicants with a centralized and transparent solution so they
always know where their cases stand,” says Bob
Meltzer, CEO of VISANOW. "By integrating
legal services with online technology that allows applicants to directly
access our legal team, we were able to come through for our clients
during a period when some law firms failed to even address their
applicant’s questions, let alone prepare the
applications in time for filing.”
VISANOW’s Web-based solution allows HR
departments to reduce the cost and time of processing applications,
increase responsiveness to questions and provide increased access to
information throughout the immigration process. Moreover, VISANOW can
handle thousands of applications more per year than traditional legal
providers. This capability also provides the scalability necessary
during times of significantly increased application volume.
Adds Edwards: "Hands down, we’re
very pleased with the VISANOW Web-based model. If I polled all of our
active and non-active employees who went through the process, they would
agree. The control and empowerment ATMI employees have is priceless.”
