Vision Street Wear Releases Artist Collaboration with Legendary '80s Skate Graphic Artist Andy Takakjian

Vision Street Wear announced today the launch of its highly anticipated collaboration with '80s skate art icon, Andy Takakjian, who has created a collection of commissioned graphics, entitled "Second Century Vision," which are available on the Vision Street Wear website www.visionstreetwear.com for viewing and to Vision Street Wear licensee partners to feature on skate gear and apparel.

Among the graphics produced in the "Second Century Vision" collection is Andy’s second iteration of the famed original "Psycho Stick" -- a rendition of the Vision Street Wear logo -- as well as several pieces of artwork licensed from the artist’s latest pieces.

Andy Takakjian began his involvement with Vision Street Wear during the height of the street skate culture of the '80s and immediately started to garner attention with his unique graphical style. Using inspiration from home and people at work, Andy produced some of the most iconic skate graphics in skateboarding history. Andy’s interpretation of street culture and designs defined an era of skateboarding history and helped rocket Vision onto the action sports scene. Born & raised in southern California, where he developed his explosive talent, Andy joined forces with other soon-to-be legends Brad Dorfman, Marty Jimenez, Greg Evans and Mark Gonzales to produce a pro model board for Mark called "The Gonz." Later that year the "Psycho Stick” was born, and Andy became an integral part of Vision’s graphic voice, combining his talent with the brand's attitude to create a look forever identified with an era.

This renewed alliance with Andy is part of Vision Street Wear's 35-year celebration of its rich history in skate culture and street style with a look back at what made Vision into the iconic brand that it is today. More information about Andy and the Vision Street Wear collaboration can be viewed in the documentary style video "A Day with Andy Takakjian” recounting his past and present relationship with the brand and the iconic graphics he is known for.
