Wabtec Bags $16.6 Mln Contract From Alaska Railroad

(RTTNews) - Wabtec Corp. (WAB), Wednesday said it received contracts worth $16.6 million from Alaska Railroad Corporation, to provide Positive Train Control or PTC equipment and services, including computer-aided dispatch and back office systems.

The company said it will install the systems on the railroad's 525 miles of controlled track, used for freight as well as regularly scheduled passenger service.

Under the contracts , Alaska's 54 locomotives are expected to benefit from Wabtec 's Interoperable Electronic Train Management System and will have all PTC components installed in them.
