Wipro Q2 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Wipro Ltd. (WIT) reported second-quarter net income attributable to equity holders of 19.32 billion rupees or 7.85 rupees per share and in dollar terms $309 million or $0.13 per share, up from last year's 16.11 billion rupees or 6.55 rupees per share.

Gross revenues from continuing operations for the quarter rose to 107.73 billion rupees or $1.72 billion from 92.20 billion rupees in the same quarter last year. Revenues from continuing operations increased 19% year-over-year to 109.92 billion rupees or $1.76 billion.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.11 per share and revenues of $1.78 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For the third-quarter, the company expects Revenues from its IT Services business to be in the range of $1.660 billion to $1.690 billion.
