World Acceptance Q4 Profit Climbs 6.8%

(RTTNews) - World Acceptance Corp. (WRLD) Tuesday reported fourth quarter net income of $31.851 million, up 6.8 percent from $29.825 million a year ago. Earnings per share increased to $3.64 from $3.42 last year.

On average, five analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $2.67 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.

Revenue for the quarter edged up to $144.571 million to $144.143 million in the comparable quarter. Wall Street expected $133.91 million.

For the fiscal year, net income declined 15.8 percent to $73.6 million from $87.4 million last year. Earnings per share were down 16.6 percent to $8.38 from $10.05 in the previous year. Revenue for the fiscal fell 4.6 percent to $531.7 million from $557.5 million a year ago.
