WuXi PharmaTech Q4 Profit Rises; Issues Q1, FY14 Outlook - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - WuXi PharmaTech Inc. (WX) Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $32.9 million, or $0.45 per ADS, compared to $23.8 million, or $0.33 per ADS in the comparable quarter last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $39.1 million or $0.53 per ADS, up from $27.5 million or $0.38 per ADS in the year-ago period. On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.43 per ADS for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased 25.1 percent to $157.17 million from $125.66 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $155.76 million.

Looking ahead to the first quarter, the company has forecast earnings in the range of $0.31 to $0.33 per ADS, adjusted earnings in the order of $0.36 to $0.38 per share and revenues in the range of $143 million and $145 million. Analysts currently expect he company to earn $0.41 per ADS on first-quarter revenues of $153.04 million.

For the fiscal 2014, the company expects earnings in the range of $1.68 to $1.73 per ADS, adjusted earnings in the order of $1.95 to $2.00 per share and revenues in the range of $660 million and $670 million. Analysts currently expect he company to earn $1.90 per ADS on fiscal 2014 revenues of $666.10 million.
