Yahoo! Q3 Profit Down 13% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $297 million or $0.28 per share, down from $3.16 billion or $2.64 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Last year's earnings included a gain of $2.8 billion related to the sale of Alibaba Group shares.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $358 million or $0.34 per share. Analysts, based on consensus, expected third-quarter earnings of $0.33 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues dropped 5 percent to $1.14 billion from $1.20 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $1.08 billion for the quarter.
