American International Group, Inc. -- Moody's rates AIG's senior notes Baa1, stable outlook
Company issuing $2.5 billion of senior unsecured notes in three tranchesNew York, July 08, 2015 -- Moody's Investors Service has assigned Baa1 ratings to $1.25 billion of 10-year senior notes, $500 million of 20-year senior notes and $750 million of 30-year senior notes being issued by American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG -- senior unsecured debt Baa1, short-term issuer rating Prime-2) off its multi-purpose shelf registration. AIG expects to use net proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes, which may include financing a portion of its pending debt tender offer. Moody's has also assigned provisional ratings to AIG's shelf registration as follows: (P)Baa1 for senior unsecured debt and (P)Baa2 for subordinated and junior subordinated debt. The rating outlook for AIG is stable.
