Buenos Aires City, January 10, 2013 -- Moody's Investors Service has today upgraded the standalone bank financial strength ratings of Banco Continental S.A.E.C.A. (Banco Continental) and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Paraguay S.A. (BBVA Paraguay) to D- from E+, and raised their baseline credit assessment to ba3, from b1. At the same time, Moody's upgraded the long and short-term global local currency deposit ratings of BBVA Paraguay to Ba1/Not Prime, from Ba2/Not Prime. Banco Continental's local currency deposits rating was unaffected.
