Moody's assigns Aa3 rating to preferred shares issued by The Gabelli Dividend & Income Trust

New York, June 28, 2016 -- Moody's Investors Service has assigned an Aa3 rating to the 5.25% Series F fixed rate preferred shares issued by The Gabelli Dividend & Income Trust (GDV or the "Fund") and affirmed the Aa3 ratings of the outstanding preferred securities Series A, B, C, D and E. The Fund's total outstanding preferred leverage will increase from $459 million to $559 million, but remain within our tolerance at the current rating level. The rating of the preferred shares is based on the Fund's pro-forma adjusted leverage, portfolio profile and pro-forma fixed charge coverage, as calculated by Moody's, combined with an assessment of the preferred shares' relative priority of claim.
