Moody's: Market retains more negative view of insurance sector in Q1 2014; UK annuity writers in focus

New York, May 16, 2014 -- CDS spreads narrowed across all insurance sectors during the first quarter of 2014, as global economic growth appears set to strengthen, says Moody's Investors Service in its latest report, "Moody's Insurance Index Indicates Market Retains More Negative View of Sector as of Q1; UK Life Insurers in Focus." But Moody's proprietary analysis indicates that the market is still overall more negative than Moody's ratings imply, said the rating agency.
