New York, December 18, 2012 -- Negative accreditation actions against US colleges and universities are on the rise, signaling a much tougher stance on the part of accreditators that is credit negative for the sector over the short term, says Moody's Investors Service. Over the next few years, the number of universities placed on warning or that lose their accreditation is likely to increase, says Moody's in the report "Accreditation Risks on the Rise for US Higher Education."
