Moody's: Outlook for the US cable industry is changed to positive; consolidation fuels EBITDA growth
New York, October 31, 2016 -- The outlook for the US cable industry has been changed to positive from stable, Moody's Investors Service says in a newly published report. After $126 billion of M&A activity over the past year the US rated cable sector is now largely consolidated. The deals raise leverage on the transacting group by almost 2x, but increased scale and synergies will yield sector EBITDA growth of 4.5%-5% over the next 12 to 18 months.
