Moody's requests comments on proposed changes to its approach to rating Hedge Fund CFOs and VFNs
New York, March 12, 2014 -- Moody's Investors Service is seeking comments from market participants on proposed changes to its rating approach for transactions backed by a portfolio of hedge fund investments: collateralized funds of hedge fund obligations (HF CFOs) and variable funding notes (HF VFNs). The agency does not expect these changes, if adopted, to have a material impact on its current VFN ratings, but does expect a generally negative impact of up to two notches on some of the tranches in current HF CFOs.
