Nova Scotia, Province of -- Moody's Publishes Annual Report on Nova Scotia

Toronto, September 16, 2014 -- In its recently released annual report on the Province of Nova Scotia, Moody's Investors Service notes that the Aa2 rating with stable outlook assigned to the province reflects the province's fiscal flexibility to adjust to pressures, predictable revenues from the federal government which help mitigate own-source revenue fluctuations and strong debt management practices which has provided the province the capacity to endure a weaker budgetary horizon then previously forecasted. These strengths are balanced by a longer than previously expected path to balanced budgets and a challenging economic environment.
