Petroleos Mexicanos -- Moody's: PEMEX and CFE pension liabilities would not be material to Mexico's creditworthiness

New York, August 12, 2014 -- The federal government of Mexico can assume a portion of the pension liabilities of the national oil company Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX, A3 stable) and the national electricity company Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE, Baa1 stable) without a material impact on its credit quality, says Moody's Investors Service. Moody's discusses possible estimates of the fiscal costs of these liabilities in a new report "Pemex and CFE pension liabilities would not weigh materially on Mexico's creditworthiness."
