Verizon Communications Inc. -- Moody's rates Verizon's new notes Baa1

New York, October 22, 2014 -- Moody's Investors Service ("Moody's") has assigned Baa1 ratings to Verizon Communications Inc.'s ("Verizon" or "the company") newly issued senior unsecured notes. Verizon intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of the notes primarily to redeem certain existing notes with maturity dates from and including 2015 to and including 2018. Any remaining net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.
