BoJ Rate Decision On Tap For Tuesday

(RTTNews) - The Bank of Japan will on Tuesday conclude its monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

The central bank is widely expected to keep its benchmark interest rate on hold at the record low of 0-0.10 percent.

Japan also will see final January numbers for machine tool orders; little change is expected from the preliminary reading that suggested an increase of 39.6 percent on year.

The Reserve Bank of Australia will release the minutes from its February 4 monetary policy meeting. At the meeting, the central bank left its benchmark rate unchanged at 2.50 percent.

Hong Kong will provide unemployment data for January; in December, the jobless rate was 3.2 percent.
