BRAZIL: Total Vehicle Production Up 20.7% In June Over May - ANFAVEA
(RTTNews) - Total vehicle production in Brazil - which includes automobiles, light commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses - reached 256,305 units in June, which resulted in a 20.7% increase over May, the Brazilian Association of Automobile Manufacturers (Anfavea) said on Friday.
On an annual basis, total vehicle production grew 21.1%, while light vehicles production increasing 20.8% compared to June 2017. In the first half, total vehicle production increased by 13.6%, to 1.434 million units, and 12.6% in light production, to 1.369 million units.
Meanwhile, total vehicle licensing reached 201,982 thousand units in June, remaining stable compared to May. In the annual comparison, total and light licensing increased by 3.6% and 3.1%, respectively. In the first half of the year, the increases were 14.4% for total registrations, 1,188 million vehicles, and 13.7% for light vehicles, to 1,129 million.
The result was affected by the truckers' strike in May.
