COLOMBIA: Santos Warns FARC Dissidents On Terms Of Peace Agreement

(RTTNews) - The President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, warned dissidents of the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) guerrilla group that "the one who does not comply with the [peace] agreements on matters of legality should be submitted to the ordinary courts and duly punished, so that there is no doubt about that."

In his statement, Santos mentioned the Framework Plan for the Implementation of the Peace Agreement, which defined 500 indicators that must be met within a 15-year horizon. Santos said that for 2017 and 2018 there are 80 indicators, and 61% were already met. "Of course, we are in the process of accelerating the pace to reach 100%."

Santos' warning comes in a moment when FARC dissidents resume activities after the most of the former guerrilla group members disbanded and surrendered their weapons to become a political party.
