India's Industrial Output Growth Accelerates To 5.2%

(RTTNews) - India's industrial production expanded at the fastest pace in six months in November, data from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation showed Friday.

Industrial production rose 5.2 percent year-over-year in November, faster than the 3.7 percent gain in October. The expected increase was 4.0 percent.

Manufacturing output grew 5.8 percent annually versus a 4.4 percent rise in October. Similarly, the growth in mining quickened to 1.9 percent from 0.9 percent. Electricity production rose 4.4 percent from last year compared to 2.0 percent in October.

During April to November, industrial production posted an annual growth of 4.1 percent compared to 6.5 percent rise in the same period last year.
