Indonesia Rate Decision On Tap For Thursday
(RTTNews) - The central bank in Indonesia will conclude its monetary policy meeting on Thursday and then announce its decision on interest rates, highlighting a modest day in Asia-Pacific economic activity. The central bank is widely expected to keep rates on hold at 6.50 percent.
Singapore will release retail sales data for June; in May, sales were up 2.1 percent on month and 3.2 percent on year.
New Zealand will see July results for the Business NZ Performance of Manufacturing Index and August scores for the ANZ consumer confidence index. In June, the manufacturing index saw a score of 54.7. The confidence index dipped 3.3 percent on month in July to a score of 119.8.
Australia will provide August figures for inflation expectations, Q2 numbers for average weekly wages and July results for foreign exchange transactions. The inflation expectation for July was 2.6 percent, while FX transactions were worth A$993 million in June.
Finally, the stock market in South Korea is closed on Thursday in observance of National Liberation Day.
