Indonesia Rate Decision On Tap For Wednesday

(RTTNews) - The central bank in Indonesia will wrap up its monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. The benchmark lending rate (4.75 percent), deposit facility rate (3.75 percent) and lending facility rate (5.50 percent) are all expected to be unchanged.

Malaysia will release April numbers for imports, exports and trade balance. In March, imports were up 10.4 percent on year and exports rose an annual 8.3 percent for a trade surplus of MYR24.60 billion.

Taiwan will provide April data for export orders and Q1 numbers for current account. In March, export orders surged 65.9 percent on year, while the current account surplus in Q4 was $69.93 billion.

Australia will see April results for the leading economic index from the Melbourne Institute; in March, the index dipped 0.1 percent on month.
