Indonesia Trade Balance Swings To Surplus
(RTTNews) - Indonesia's trade balance swung to a surplus in September, as imports fell faster than exports, figures from Statistics Indonesia showed on Thursday.
The trade balance registered a surplus of $2.44 billion in September versus $0.18 billion deficit in the last year. Economists had expected a surplus of $1.98 billion. In August, the trade surplus was $2.35 billion.
Exports declined 0.51 percent year-on-year in September. Economists had expected a decline of 7.20 percent.
Imports fell 18.88 percent annually in September. Economists had forecast a decrease of 22.40 percent.
On a monthly basis, exports rose 6.97 percent and imports increased 7.71 percent in September.
