Latvia's Retail Sales Increase For Third Month
(RTTNews) - Retail sales in Latvia increased for the third consecutive month in November, and at a faster rate than in the previous month, data released by Statistics Latvia revealed Friday.
Retail sales turnover increased a seasonally adjusted 1.2 percent in November from the preceding month, when they recorded a 0.5 percent gain.
Contributing to the overall growth, trade in food products has rose 2.4 percent, and sale of non-food products advanced 0.4 percent. Meanwhile, sale of motor vehicles and motorcycles decreased by 8.1 percent.
Year-on-year, retail trade advanced a calendar-adjusted 5 percent in November. This followed a 3.4 percent gain in October, the agency said.
During the January-November period, retail trade advanced 3.8 percent from the corresponding period of 2012, the agency said.
