MEXICO: Trade Balance Posts US$ 62 Million Surplus In June
(RTTNews) - Mexico posted a US$ 62 million trade surplus in June, the best result for the month since 2014, when the country's trade balance was positive at US$ 385.8 million, according to data from the national statistics office. In 2016, the Mexican trade balance had a US$ 517 million deficit.
In June, Mexican exports recorded an 11.5% annual growth, reaching US$ 35.608 million. Automobile exports rose 17.8%, pushing manufactured goods exports higher. Oil sector sales to abroad also increased, by 10.4%.
Imports reached US$ 35,547 million, a 9.5% rise, pushed higher by a 19.6% growth in oil and fuel-related acquisitions. Capital goods imports, however, were 2.2% lower.
The Mexican trade deficit for the first half of 2017 is US$ 2.9 billion.
