New Zealand Credit Card Data Due On Wednesday

(RTTNews) - New Zealand will on Wednesday release January figures for credit card spending, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

Retail card spending is expected to add 0.2 percent on month after losing 0.1 percent in December. Overall card spending dipped 0.3 percent in the previous month.

Australia will provide December numbers for home loans, and also see February results for the consumer confidence index from Westpac Bank.

Home loans are tipped to rise 2.0 percent on month after shedding 0.7 percent in November. The consumer confidence index gained 2.4 percent on month to a score of 93.2.

South Korea will release unemployment numbers for January, with forecasts suggesting that the jobless rate will hold steady at a seasonally adjusted 3.5 percent.

Finally, markets in Japan will be closed on Wednesday for National Foundation Day.
