Poland Industrial Output, Producer Prices Fall In June
(RTTNews) - Poland's industrial output fell unexpectedly, while producer prices dropped slightly less than forecast in June, preliminary data from the Central Statistical Office showed Thursday.
Industrial production slid 0.1 percent in June from the prior month, confounding expectations for a 2 percent rise.
Manufacturing output dropped 0.1 percent, and electricity gas and steam and air conditioning output fell 2.7 percent. Partially offsetting decreases, mining output advanced 3.7 percent.
On a yearly basis, overall industrial production grew only 1.7 percent, which was slower than the 3.7 percent increase forecast by economists.
Another report showed that producer prices remained unchanged in June from the prior month, while it fell 1.7 percent from the corresponding period of last year. Economists had forecast a 0.1 percent monthly fall and a 1.8 percent annual decline.
