Portugal Producer Prices Decline Worsens In December

(RTTNews) - Portugal's producer prices decline accelerated in December, after easing slightly in the previous month, figures from Statistics Portugal showed Monday.

Industrial producer prices dropped 3.3 percent year-on-year in December, much faster than November's 1.1 percent fall.

Prices in the manufacturing sector plunged 4.7 percent annually during December, following a 2.0 percent decline registered in the prior month.

In the whole year 2014, the average rate of growth of producer prices was -1.2 percent. In 2013, it was only -0.1 percent.

On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 1.8 percent in December, after a 0.6 percent drop in the previous month. It was the fifth successive monthly decrease.
