South Korea Unemployment Data Due On Wednesday

(RTTNews) - South Korea will on Wednesday release unemployment data for December, highlighting a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

The jobless rate is expected to hold steady at a seasonally adjusted 3.4 percent.

Japan will see December numbers for money stock and machine tool orders. The M2 money stock is expected to hold steady at 3.6 percent, while the M3 stock is tipped to rise to 3.0 percent from 2.9 percent in November. Tool orders surged 36.6 percent in November.

New Zealand will provide December numbers for credit card spending; in November, retail card spending was down 0.1 percent on month, while overall card spending dipped 0.3 percent.
