After-market Movers For July 24 (FB, QCOM, V, BIDU, TRIP, WDC, VAR, CAKE, SQNM)

Facebook, Inc. (FB) jumped 17 percent to $30.98. The company swung to a profit in its second quarter and its adjusted earnings per share came above Wall Street view. Revenue rose 53 percent and also topped the consensus estimate. Advertising revenue for the quarter surged 61 percent from the year-ago quarter.
QUALCOMM Inc. (QCOM) rose 4 percent to $64.12. The company's third quarter profit improved from the prior year period and its non-GAAP earnings per share were in-line with Street view. Total revenues for the quarter improved and came above the consensus estimate. The company forecast fourth quarter results in-line with market view and raised its fiscal 2013 guidance.
Visa Inc. (V) gained over 2 percent to $191.05. The company's third quarter results were above Wall Street view. The company raised its fiscal year 2013 net revenue and adjusted class A common stock earnings per share growth forecast. The company also announced a new $1.5 billion share repurchase program.
Baidu, Inc. (BIDU) surged almost 14 percent to $129.10. The company's second quarter net income attributable to company declined 4.5 percent, while its revenue improved 38.6 percent from the corresponding period prior year. The company forecast third quarter total revenues above the consensus estimate.
TripAdvisor Inc. (TRIP) advanced 14 percent to $69.80. The company's second quarter were higher than the last year quarter and its adjusted earnings per share topped Street view. Revenues increased 7 percent and also came above analysts' estimate.
Decliners:
Western Digital Corp. (WDC) declined 4 percent to $64.50. The company's fourth quarter profit fell 44 percent from the year-ago quarter, as revenue declined due to lower hard-drive shipments. Meanwhile, earnings per share, excluding items, and revenue were above Street view.
Varian Medical Systems, Inc. (VAR) declined nearly 6 percent to $68.00. The company's third quarter profit improved from the year-ago quarter and was above analysts' estimate. Revenues came below the consensus estimate. The company noted that its revenue growth was less than expected due primarily to a significant currency headwind with the Yen as well as inventory adjustments among major X-ray tube customers in Japan. The company also slashed its fiscal year 2013 guidance citing sharp decline in the Yen and uncertain timing of revenues from a proton therapy project in Maryland that has not completed its financing.
Cheesecake Factory Inc. (CAKE) declined 5 percent to $39.50 as its second quarter results were below analysts' expectations. The company also announced an increase in its quarterly dividend by 17 percent and increased its share repurchase authorization by 7.5 million shares.
Sequenom Inc. (SQNM) plunged 31 percent to $3.21 as its second quarter results were below Wall Street view. The company said it is disappointed by the delay in the collection of diagnostic segment revenues during the quarter, as pressure associated with coding and billing policies on the national level are slowing the timing of reimbursement.
Crocs, Inc. (CROX) fell 21 percent to $13.34. The company's second quarter profit declined from the year-ago quarter and its adjusted earnings per share missed Street view. Revenue increased 9.9 percent, but came below the consensus estimate. The company also guided its third quarter results below market view.
