Alaska Air Group April Traffic Up 4.9% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Alaska Air Group Inc. (ALK) reported April operational results for its subsidiaries, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, and on a combined basis. On a combined basis, Air Group reported a 4.9 percent increase in traffic on a 4.9 percent increase in capacity compared to April 2013. This resulted in a flat load factor of 86.1 percent.

Traffic was 2.49 billion RPMs, compared to 2.37 billion RPMs, a year ago. Capacity was 2.89 billion ASMs, compared to 2.76 billion ASMs.

Alaska Airlines reported a 4.3 percent increase in traffic on a 4.3 percent increase in capacity compared to April 2013. This resulted in a flat load factor of 86.8 percent, flat with prior year.

Horizon reported April traffic and capacity that was similar with April 2013, and the resulting load factor was consistent at 78.3 percent.
