Alliance Data Systems Q4 Earnings Surges

(RTTNews) - Alliance Data Systems Corp. (ADS) Thursday announced 133 percent surge in fourth quarter net income to $178 million from $76 million last year. On a per share basis, earnings attributable to the company increased 169 percent to $2.31 from $0.86 last year. Core earnings were $253.9 million or $4.13 per share.

On average, 24 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $4.11 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.

Revenue for the quarter climbed 18 percent to $1.749 billion from $1.486 billion in the previous year. Wall Street expected $1.79 billion.
