Alltel Wireless named 'Official Wireless Corporate Partner of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association'

Alltel Wireless, America’s largest network, today announced the company has been named the "Official Wireless Corporate Partner of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.” The three-year agreement provides Alltel customers access to unique CIAA wireless content, including wallpapers, ringtones and fan alerts delivered directly to customers’ handsets, keeping fans up-to-date on the latest from America’s oldest historically black college conference. Under the terms of the agreement, Alltel will receive exclusive branding opportunities including signage, and on-field / on-court promotions. In addition, Alltel will be the sponsor of the 2007 CIAA Basketball Tournament Fan Fest Family Fun Zone, will support the CIAA scholarship fund, and can hold on-site job fairs focusing on call center, retail and sales management positions on all 11 CIAA campuses throughout the southeast. "Alltel is proud to be the official wireless partner of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association,” said Regina Woziwodzki, director of segment marketing for Alltel Wireless. "In addition to the exclusive content offering, the contributions to the CIAA scholarship fund demonstrate Alltel’s commitment to customers and the community.” As part of the sponsorship, Alltel will incorporate their "Fan Alerts” program which gives Alltel Wireless customers access to CIAA news including updated team standings and schedules, player and coach profiles, fan polls, event schedules and ticket information. The CIAA was founded in 1912 and is based in Hampton, Va. Composed of 11 historically black colleges and universities situated along the Eastern seaboard, the CIAA is America’s oldest historically black college conference. Last year’s CIAA tournament made its Charlotte debut, raising over $1.8 million for scholarships. The 2007 tournament will mark its 62nd anniversary and its second year in Charlotte. "This partnership allows our fans and students to utilize the most up-to-date mobile technology and receive CIAA related information at their finger tips.
